Coconut oil is becoming increasingly popular both in and outside of the kitchen. This tropical treasure has remarkable therapeutic properties that have been enjoyed by people living in the South Pacific for a very long time.

Besides being a highly nutritious and delicious cooking oil, coconut oil contains properties that feed and moisturize the skin. The scientific community is finally catching up with what many have known for ages, coconut oil is truly good for you, both inside and outside.

Now the secret is out…

Until recently, the benefits of coconut oil were known only to people of coconut growing areas. It was kind of like a best-kept secret. They had been using it for generations, probably more out of necessity than choice, for cooking as well as for skin and hair care. The excellent health and longevity enjoyed by islanders who use coconut oil is widely recognized today.

Most of us use several creams and lotions for softening our skin, especially the skin of the face and hands. Coconut oil is a great skin softener and helps you do away with dry and hard skin conditions. Coconut oil is a powerful moisturiser that is beneficial to restoring dry or flaking skin. Unlike your average moisturiser that contains a lot of water and likely synthetic ingredients, coconut oil helps to strengthen skin tissue more deeply and eliminate dead skin cells while absorbing quickly into your skin. Coconut oil also helps to delay the occurrence of wrinkles because it contains antioxidant Vitamin E, known to protect skin cells from damage over time. The Vitamin E found in coconut oil soothes eczema, sunburn and psoriasis, and its antiviral and antifungal benefits even help to treat bug bites. Much of the research that is there speaks to its protein content, since the replacement of sick or dying cells that can occur with various skin disorders, are quickly replaced by new, healthy cells. In this way, coconut oil not only treats the infection by battling the microbial bodies, they also heal the damage or the visible marks of that skin disorder; it is a two-in-one solution! Coconut oil contains 3 fatty acids: capric acid, lauric acid and caprylic acid. Each of these acids kill candida, a common cause of fungal infection on your skin.

Coconut oil is also good for hardened and cracked feet, which may happen due to excessive cold or strenuous work while standing on your feet.

And the latest scientific researches keep discovering new ways on how coconut oil can benefit our health. Thanks life for giving us coconut oil!!!
